2022 Bond

With more than 68 percent voting in favor, the bond is passing! We are grateful to Highline voters for providing for safe and modern learning facilities at Evergreen High School, Tyee High School and Pacific Middle School, as well as funds for critical improvements across the district. Proposition 1: Highline Public Schools Bond

Proposition 1--the Highline Public Schools Bond--will continue Highline’s commitment to replace our aging school buildings with schools built to today's safety standards, equipped for today's learning. This bond will rebuild three schools and fund critical improvements across Highline while keeping taxes stable.

The Bond Supports Learning Across Highline

  • Equitable access to safe and modern schools
  • Districtwide improvements, with stable taxes
  • 20-year track record of on-time, on-budget school construction

replace aging schools with safe, modern facilities

  • Rebuild Tyee High School
  • Rebuild Evergreen High School
  • Rebuild Pacific Middle School
  • Repair and improve schools districtwide 

The bond was developed and recommended by Highline's Capital Facilities Advisory Committee. 

Proposition 1 was on the November 2022 ballot. Capital construction bonds required a 60% approval rate by voters. Prop. 1 is passing with more than 68% approval rate (as of November 12).

School Designs

The design work for all three schools was funded in the 2016 school bond, saving taxpayer dollars and speeding up the design and construction process. Here are the designs and proposed timelines for the new schools pending bond approval:

Our community-led Capital Facilities Advisory Committee (CFAC) held its first meeting of the 2022-23 school year on Wednesday, September 28, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the district central office. Read a meeting summary and learn more about planning for future bonds to rebuild other aging schools.
